The report also revealed that BGMI was sending data from Hongkong into Tencent’s Proxima Beta, as well as to Microsoft Azure servers located in Mumbai (US) and Moscow (US). The last year PUBGIt had to break ties with Tencent and was therefore banned.

The server is located in Beijing China and this Chinese state-owned company runs it. This server received the data about the device. BGMI also pinged a Tencent server while the device was booting.

This is a sign that Krafton may be taking serious steps to correct the situation. Krafton recently claimed it had cut ties to Tencent and made it the publisher of PUBG Mobile. Krafton stated that player data security is their highest priority.

It seems, however that these events could lead to Battleground Mobile India being banned. BGM India was already banned by certain political leaders. CAIT calls for the banning of Battleground Mobile India

Confederation of All India Traders – CAIT wrote a letter to Shri Ravi Shankar Prashad (Union IT and Communication Minister) demanding to put a Ban on BGMI. They stated that it was both a danger to national sovereignty and national security as well as harmful for young people.

CAIT requested Google to also remove BGMI and prevent it from being allowed in future. Secretary-General of CAIT tweeted that “After #PUBG was banned last year [and] now they are making backdoor entry by circumventing Indian laws.”

Is the BGMI App banned?

Battleground Mobile India has not been banned as of right now. The beta version can be downloaded on Google Play Store. If there are more developments, the government might take further steps to stop it. Although Krafton may be able to prove they have not leaked any user data, this doesn’t look very promising.
